Your team’s AI models, on a phone

Take a photo of a part, a product or a defect, or type a question, and get the answer your team’s model gives, with its confidence. Technicians, inspectors and counter staff can use a model where the work is, without a laptop and, with an access code, without an AMT account.

iPhone app coming soon.

How it works

  1. Train and publish a model on the web. Models are built in AMT in a browser, from photos or rows your team has already categorized. The app uses published models; it doesn't train them.
  2. Open the app and sign in, or enter an access code (or scan its QR code).
  3. Pick a model, then take a photo, choose one from the phone, or type a question.
  4. Read the answer: the category, large, with the model's confidence ("87% confidence").
  5. Unsure answers go to your team. When the confidence is below the model's cutoff, the answer goes to the Review Queue on its own, and the app says so. A reviewer's answer can train the next version. The Review Queue is available on Essentials and Business.

Two ways in

Access Signed in With an access code
Who it's for Members of a workspace People with no AMT account: field technicians, contractors, branch staff
What they see Every published model they may use in the workspace One model: its name, description and categories
What they can do Ask any of those models Ask that one model, nothing else: no training data, files, settings or Review Queue
Plan Every plan; answers count as predictions Essentials and Business (codes come with the Prediction API)

Access codes you control

A Builder makes a code on the model's page, under Use → Access codes → New access code, and gives the code or its QR code to the people who should use it.

  • Limits on every code: when it expires (90 days by default, a set number of days, or never), how many phones may use it (10 by default) and how many answers it gives a day across those phones (500 by default).
  • Stop it at any time: pause a code, turn it back on, stop new phones joining, remove one phone, or revoke the code so every phone stops at once.
  • One switch for the workspace: the workspace Owner can switch access codes off in Settings → Access codes.
  • Everything is logged: making, pausing and revoking codes, and every phone that joins or is refused, in the workspace's Activity. Each answer records that it came from the app and which code asked.
  • Shown once: the full code appears only when it's made; after that, only its name and last four characters, like an API key.

What happens to the photos

  • Photos are resized on the phone and sent only to answer the question you asked.
  • They aren't kept, except when an unsure answer goes to the Review Queue for a person to check.
  • The app doesn't ask for or send your location, and has no ads or tracking.
  • See Security and your data and the Privacy Policy.

Common questions

Is there an iPhone app?

Not yet. The Android app is on Google Play now, and the iPhone app follows once Apple approves it.

Can I train a model in the app?

No. Models are trained and published in AMT on the web; the app asks published models.

Does the app work without signal?

Not yet. It needs a connection to send the photo and get the answer.

Do people need an AMT account?

Not with an access code. A code lets someone use one model and nothing else, within the limits you set.

What does it cost?

The app is free to download. Answers count toward the workspace's monthly predictions (and photos toward its pictures), like any other way of using a model. Access codes need Essentials or Business; picture models need the Vision add-on. See pricing.

Who can see what was asked?

Each answer records that it came from the app, and which person or access code asked. Unsure answers, with their photo, go to the Review Queue for your team. The Review Queue requires Essentials or Business.
