The work around the fine-tuning job is the project
Starting a fine-tuning job in Bedrock takes minutes. What takes months is everything around it, and it's where most classification pilots stall.

The model stays in your customer's account
- Connect once with a CloudFormation template. It creates a private, encrypted bucket for training files and the roles Bedrock and StayCharted need. Your customer pastes one role ARN back. No access keys are created or stored.
- Amazon Nova Micro, Lite or Pro, fine-tuned in US East (N. Virginia).
- The training file is deleted when training ends, and the bucket empties itself after a week regardless.
- The tuned model stays in the customer's account and answers on demand, pay-as-you-go, on their AWS bill. No Provisioned Throughput needed.
- Or don't train at all. With Your AI Models, StayCharted asks a model your customer already uses on Bedrock, with their categories, their labelling guide and their most similar past examples in every question.
- Or train on StayCharted's servers. Every model kind is available, including picture models, if the customer doesn't need it in their own account.

StayCharted processes and stores the examples you upload to prepare training and test the model. Training in your AWS account does not mean the examples stay exclusively in that account.
Numbers you can show your customer
On banking messages, a model trained on about 10,000 labelled examples made 6.3 mistakes in 100, against 15.3 for a leading general AI. On contract clauses, 15.1 against 23.1. On 6,788 public CBP customs rulings, the answers our model was surest of were right to all 10 HTS digits 96% of the time, and the rest went to a person. All benchmarks, with the hard ones →
Every customer's model gets the same report on its own examples before it answers anything, so the number in your proposal is your customer's, not ours.
These published benchmarks use StayCharted models, not Bedrock-tuned Amazon Nova models. They do not measure Nova fine-tuning performance.

Buying on AWS Marketplace. StayCharted AI Model Trainer is listed on AWS Marketplace. Your customer subscribes in their own AWS account, and it's billed on their AWS invoice, where it can count toward their AWS commitments if their agreement allows. The purchase links to their StayCharted workspace, and they invite you in with the role they choose while you deliver the project.
And your services. Data preparation, labelling guides, integration and change management are yours to sell. StayCharted does the model work, so your hours go to the parts only you can do.

The Integration Sandbox
A separate StayCharted environment for partners, at sandbox-amt.staycharted.com, in its own AWS account. Build a demo, test an integration against the API, or rehearse a customer workshop, without touching production. Access is by invitation: ask the partner team.
What your customer's security team will ask
- Its own database schema for each customer account. Customer accounts are logically isolated within the service.
- Examples train only that customer's models. When the customer chooses Bedrock or another AI provider, the data needed for that workflow is sent to that provider. Connected assistants can read the data the customer permits.
- Encrypted in transit and at rest; a web application firewall in front.
- Every action recorded in the customer's Activity, and every answer records the channel and who asked.

Does StayCharted train in my customer's AWS account?
Yes. Dedicated AI Models can be fine-tuned on Amazon Nova in your customer's own Amazon Bedrock. The tuned model stays and answers in their account.
Which plan does my customer need?
Training in their own Bedrock is a Dedicated AI Model, on the Business plan. Using a model they already run on Bedrock, without training, is the Your AI Models add-on on Essentials and Business. See [pricing](/pricing).
Can my customer buy StayCharted through AWS Marketplace?
Yes. They subscribe to the public listing in their own AWS account, and it's billed on their AWS invoice.
Can I resell StayCharted?
Yes, through our reseller program: you pay at your discount and bill your customer at your own price. Or build it into your own software with the Partner API.
Do I get access to my customer's models?
Only if your customer invites you to their workspace, with the role they choose. A reseller's account never reaches its customers' models or data on its own.
